After Tosh Sevier noticed a vibrant arts movement growing in Downtown Albany, he says it inspired him to establish the Downtown Theatre Company.
Sevier, also an Albany State University Theatre graduate, plans to start the group off doing improv and flash mobs then later working to develop skills with members for bigger productions. All performances will take place in different Downtown Albany buildings.
"What we're trying to do is find a very cost effective way to initiate this theatre company and use it as a way to expose people to the businesses as well as the arts," says Sevier.
Producers, writers, thespians, dancers: He says there is a place for everyone interested in joining the Downtown Theatre Company. Sevier says he wants the Downtown Theatre Company to have a family vibe.
An informational meeting will be held about the group on Jan. 14 at 4 p.m. at 216 West Broad upstairs in Suite B.
