Downtown Moultrie continues Christmas lighting tradition
MOULTRIE, Ga. —
Downtown Moultrie will soon light up the town to get people in the Christmas spirit.
Hundreds of Christmas lights are up and ready for the annual lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving evening at 6 p.m.
Santa and his reindeer will be there to light the countdown.
This has been a tradition in Moultrie since the 1940’s.
“Everyone needs to experience the lighting at least one time in their life,” Amy Johnson Downtown Moultrie Development Director, said. “It is magical. It doesn’t matter if you’re two or 92, they are magical.”
The lights will be lit every night until January 1.
