In an effort to clean up the city of Douglas law enforcement, code enforcement, and other city leaders swept the streets Thursday.
From four until eight in the evening they were out in various parts of town looking for violations of ordinances that are set in place in the city.
The is the fourth sweep they've done and felt it was necessary to hand out citations this time instead of just warnings.
The mayor, James Dennis, told FOX 31 they were looking for "broken glass, broken windows, trash accumulating in the yard, grass that needs mowing, old cars in the driveway, and it's an effort to make sure everybody knows respect for their neighbor."
This is all a part of what they're calling Operation Quality of Life.
