      Douglas police apprehend armed robber

      The Douglas Police Department responded to multiple armed robbery calls in November and December.

      On November 3rd and November 17th, officers responded to an Armed Robbery at Flash Foods located at 1716 N. Peterson Ave.

      In both robberies the clerk was forced at gun point to open the cash registers. After retrieving money from the store TMs registers in the second robbery the offender forced the clerk and another individual in the store to give him their wallets.

      On December 2nd, officers responded to an armed robbery at Domino TMs Pizza located 803 N. Peterson Avenue.

      Officers from the Douglas Police Department responded to an Armed Robbery on December 15th at Aden TMs Minit Mart located at 1020 E. Baker Hwy. During the investigations officers were able to obtain information and positive identification on the individual responsible for the robberies.

      Wednesday, December 18th, officers from the Douglas Police Department arrested and charged 37-year-old, Lorenzo Wells in connection with all four armed robberies. Charges include Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The investigation is still ongoing and other charges may follow.
