Dougherty County will soon be getting an extra $35,000 dollars a year.
That's because Monday the Dougherty County Commission voted to expect sludge from the Lee County Landfill and bring it to the Dougherty County Landfill.
Officials say by doing this it provides extra revenue for Dougherty County on an annual basis.
Solid Waste Director Scott Addison says, "with the solid waste industry additional waste is additional revenue so anytime we get an opportunity to add waste, we get additional revenue from our waste."
The Dougherty County Landfill will receive between 10 and 15 tons of sludge a week.
