Dougherty County Police need the public's help in locating a suspect in connection to a theft by taking incident at the Dollar General on Newton Road.

The store clerk told police Elvis Carr entered the store and walked out with six bottles of soap in his pants. He went to the register, acted like he was going to pay but told the clerk he left his money in his car, walked out and never came back in.

Police say although it's just soap, even small items stolen are a big deal to stores. Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick with DCP said, "What a lot of people don't understand is that when these stores take a loss, a certain amount of loss, a lot of the times they have to pass the loss on to the customers, and they have to raise the prices."

If you have any information on Carr's whereabouts Kirkpatrick urges you to call the Dougherty County Police Department.
