One Dougherty County leader wants to see the entire county get healthier, and he said a key to that could be something already in the community that is free for everyone.

Commission Chairman Chris Cohilas is highlighting the county's mountain bike trails along the Flint River.

He said he routinely rides his bike on those trails and has even seen people from other states out there to ride, walk and run.

Now he said he would like to see more people get outside to take advantage of this resource.

"It is absolutely gorgeous," he said. "It is a tremendous asset. It doesn't cost us anything, and it's a way of drawing people in."
