The Dougherty County Finance Committee met Tuesday to discuss the 2011/2012 budget.
Currently, a $3 million dollar deficit has the commission looking at furlough days and other cutbacks to help balance the budget.
It's pretty settled that they will implement nine furlough days.
In addition they will reduce the contribution the county makes to the pension fund.
Another option is reallocating a portion of the millage.
The option of putting a quarter of a mil from the CIP into the Maintenance and Operation budget, which will provide more tax revenues to the maintenance and operation of the General Fund, said County Administrator, Richard Crowdis.
The current millage rate is 11.894.
