It was Christmas in July at the Albany Police Department Saturday, complete with a Christmas tree and presents.
Actually, the Dougherty County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) began their drive to collect gifts that they'll give to children in foster care for Christmas.
"The reason we are doing it early is because we wanted to get a jump start. We know that in Christmas time a lot of families are strapped due to the economy, so we wanted to give them an opportunity to give a little earlier so that at Christmas time they don't have to decide between their own children and the children that are in foster care," said Jershaun Roberts of CASA.
CASA also received a 300 dollar gift certificate for Toys-R-Us from the Artesian Sertoma Club that they'll use to get more gifts.
