Dougherty and Worth want an answer on GHSA classification

Dougherty and Worth County School systems have teamed together for answers from the Georgia High School Association.

Dougherty and Worth County School systems have teamed together for answers from the Georgia High School Association. In a letter, the systems ask to discuss their claim of an unfair competitive disadvantage, having Thomas County Central and Bainbridge High Schools move into 1-AAAA classification. This move comes despite the recommendation of the GHSA Reclassification Committee and not following the constitution and by-laws of the organization according to the letter. The school systems believe that this move creates a dangerous situation for Albany High, Dougherty High, and Worth County High athletes.Additionally, the school systems believes that they deserve a discussion and an answer to their request that this matter go back to the Reclassification Committee so that each school could make an appropriate presentation and a decision made consistent with the constitution and by-laws of the Georgia High School Association. To read the entire letter, click here.
