      Dollar General on Oglethorpe robbed at gunpoint

      Just before 7:30 a.m. Saturday July 10, 2010 police responded to an armed robbery at the Dollar General at 1906 East Oglethorpe Road.

      Police say a black male with a handgun approached store manager Santana Windom who was sitting in her car in the store's parking lot. The gunman demanded the store's money and bank deposit. Windom complied and she told police the suspect ran away with an undetermined amount of cash and checks.

      Police say that same suspect unsuccessfully attempted to rob two other Dollar General employees.

      The suspect's vehicle is a smokey gray 2003 or 2004 Nissan Altima with tinted windows.
