If you have some old pills laying around your house, it's time to get rid of them, and here's how.On Saturday, the Sylvester Police Department was out collecting old pills and pill bottles for National Drug Take Back Day.Law officials say the day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.Sgt. Kevin Griffith with the Sylvester Police Department says, "the most abused drugs are prescription drugs so if we can get the unused prescription drugs off the street, that will do a lot for the community."
Griffith adds that if you missed today, feel free to come by the police department and drop off your drugs there.
