Crews have been working for over a month preparing to rid the city of the old Heritage House.
Friday crews took their efforts one step further by demolishing almost half of the dilapidated structure.
On Oglethorpe Boulevard the mass of mangled metal can be seen by people passing by.
The back of the building came down weeks ago and now workers are moving closer to their final goal of clearing the land.
The project is set to be completed by the end of September.
