The annual Southwest Georgia Confederate Memorial Service was held in Lee County Saturday morning.

The band, 'A Joyful Noise' played southern gospel music before the service began.

Commander James King says there are still principles to fight for today.

"The confederate principles of limited federal government and states rights are important to modern America," says King.

A formal memorial service was held from 10 a.m. to noon.
