Delta rate hike fails to take off

Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Director Yvette Ahele says, "fares change from minute to minute and those seats go fast, so you need to buy them as soon as you can." / File

Good news for people flying out of the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport.

Delta Airlines has failed its attempt to raise fares last week when Southwest and other airlines did not match.

A Delta official said Tuesday that the airline rolled back its $4 fare hike to $10 round trip which it had instituted last week.

Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Director Yvette Aehle says, "fares change from minute to minute and those seats go fast, so you need to buy them as soon as you can."

This was the 10th attempt to raise fares this year. Only two have been successful, both by Delta.
