Students learned about cockroaches, frogs, snakes, and birds of prey in a presentation from the Georgia Southern University Center for Wildlife.
Jackie Entz, Wildlife Curator says the message is about conservation and when you teach it in a fun way, students learn more. "You might read about a snake or read about a bird, but you can't learn the same way that you can when you see it and you get to touch it up close" says Entz.
Students got to touch and learn about the animal's habitat, hunting methods, anatomy, and safety if they encounter one of the animals in the wild.
The Georgia Southern University Center for Wildlife says they hope the students gain an appreciation for wildlife now, so they'll be more active to preserve it in the future.
