Body found by railroad in Lowndes County identified
UPDATE (August 14, 2017):
The body found by the CSX railroad tracks in Lowndes County last July was identified Monday morning.
Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk says that the male found was identified as 52-year-old Billy Rose.
Final autopsy results have not been released.

Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk confirms that around 5:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a body was found in a body of water alongside the CSX train tracks near the Lowndes-Brooks County border.
Around 4 p.m., a CSX train conductor called dispatch to report a body seen in a body of water.
Brooks and Lowndes County law enforcement searched the train tracks near U.S. Highway 84.
Sheriff Paulk confirms that the body of a male was found and adds that it appears the body had been in the water for multiple days.
Around 6:30 p.m., the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office dive team was called in to remove the body from the water so that it can be sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Paulk adds that there are no current reports of missing persons and that this is an open investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office at 229-671-2900.
