A second year math teacher at Dougherty Comprehensive High School turned herself into officials this morning for sexual assault.
Officials with the Dougherty County School System say 26-year-old Dornicia Johnson turned herself in after being served warrants for sexual contact with a student for incidents occurring in May.
Johnson is restricted from the premises until the hearing.
DCSS officials say they are not going to condone the actions made by this teacher and her future is now with the courts and the criminal proceedings that will follow with this case.
Public Information Director R.D. Harter says that "the Dougherty County School System has no tolerance for illegal and unethical behavior of staff members. The incident has been reported to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission and the teacher will face administrative and criminal action. She has not been allowed to return to a school system campus since evidence for the the incident was discovered."
