The Dougherty County School System held their monthly meeting Wednesday morning.
They got an update on the construction going on at Dougherty High School. Officials say they started the asbestos project that bid first of October. The contractor was on site Monday and started moving through the building. He has 45 calendar days to finish the project.
They talked about the process for picking an architectural firm. There is a committee that is in charge of looking through each proposed firm and they just finished picking which firms are fully qualified out of all the ones that were interested.
They also heard from Dr. Valerie Thomas who read a proclamation from Governor Nathan Deal declaring this month parent engagement month. Thomas honored the parents that attended the meeting and commended them for being involved.
