      DCSS facing lawsuit from educational services vendor

      An educational services provider has filed suit against the Dougherty County School System for fees they say the system never paid.Global Partnership Schools Inc. is a New York company that provides learning and education consulting services to public and private school systems.The company says in it's filing that former superintendent Joshua Murfree on behalf of the school system, entered into the agreement with the company in October 2011 to provide educational services to Dougherty County Schools as part of the Race to the Top grant program.Company officials say that in exchange for the provision of these Services DCSS agreed to pay to GPS the amount of $136,000.00, in equal monthly payments of $11,333.33.Officials also say that DCSS officials made no motion to terminate the agreement via written notice before stopping payments in January 2012.Global Partnership Schools Inc is seeking the remaining payments due to breach of contract for a total of $101,999.97, plus interest.Stay connected to as stories develop and the FOX 31 Newscast at 10 PM.
