Sun, 24 Nov 2013 15:20:41 GMT — The Dougherty County Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened around 7:30 Saturday night at the Pitt Stop store at 3225 Sylvester Rd. Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick with DCP tells FOX 31 News that a black male entered the store armed with a hand gun and demanded money from the clerk. Kirkpatrick says the clerk complied and gave the suspect $300 worth of cash. The suspect was only in the store for about 30 seconds, when he left the business on foot. The armed robber is described as a black male about 5 foot 9 inches in height, slim build, wearing blue jeans, and a blue button up with a black shirt covering his face. Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick says, "business owners should always have have alarm systems in place, and panic buttons, and should always be aware of their surroundings. Also don't keep a lot of currency in the store if you can help it, and make deposits as often as possible."
