DCP hopes shoplifting surveillance helps identify suspects

Dougherty County police need your help tracking down two shoplifters.

The suspects " a black female and a black male " were caught on surveillance from April 9 stealing four packs of Hanes white tees and nine packs of Hanes men TMs underwear at the Dollar General in Putney. The total value of the stolen items is $80.

They took with them four packs of Hanes white t-shirts and nine packs of Hanes men underwear, stuffing them in their pants and an oversized purse.

We're starting to have quite a few shoplifting incidents especially at the Dollar General Stores, similar incidents where they took basically the same items, says Capt. Jimmy Sexton with the Dougherty County Police Department.

DCP officials say there have been nearly five shoplifting incidents within the last six months at local Dollar Generals, and surveillance video has helped apprehend some shoplifters.

Surveillance video is invaluable to us. When we put these videos out to the public, we often get calls or Crimestoppers tips. We're certainly appreciative,

If you recognize the suspects in the most recent surveillance video, call Crimestoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477) or DCP at (229) 430-6600.
