Fire starts at Dawson City Hall
Dawson, GA —
A fire at the Dawson City Hall building on Friday night caused minor damage to the building.
According to Assistant Chief for Dawson Police Department Tommy Poupard, the call for the fire came in at about 8 p.m.
When firefighters got to the scene, Poupard said they had to force entry into the building.
After investigating, officials said the fire appeared to have started from an electric shortage in a first floor office.
Crews are still on the scene ventilating the smoke.
Poupard said the building should be safe to occupy on Monday and the office was really the only part that was damaged.
There were no injuries reported.
