Darton to get over $600,000 from state budget
Fri, 21 Mar 2014 16:26:12 GMT —
Darton State College will be receiving $678,000 in funding from the newly passed state budget if signed by Governor Nathan Deal.
Officials with the college say that this is the first phase of the new renovations for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and they're hoping to get more financial backing for more renovations.
The Student Center was originally built in the 1960's and these funds will be used to help get it up to code.
Darton spokeswoman Amanda Clements says it would be luck if they were able to get more money for renovations.
According to the state budget, the funds are being redirected from 20-year unspent bond proceeds in the Fiscal Year 2011 Budget for Augusta State University.
