After an audit showed Darton State College had financial concerns in January, the college president is talking about the progress that has been made and what issues are still being fixed.

The concerns included potential overpayment of nearly $900,000 in federal financial aid to students. Time and effort reports were not completed properly under federal requirements. There were also salary issues with the college's director of grants, and athletic costs not being properly allocated.

Darton President Paul Jones says most of those issues have been fixed but they're still making progress.

"One of the main things is finalizing our five-year business plans for all of our auxiliary areas making sure that the plans we put in place, that we're performing at that level we need to be at and ensure full compliance," Jones said.

Jones says the money that is owed to the state should be fully repaid by the end of the week.
