Darton graduates get pinned

Multiple Albany-area students celebrated their graduation from the Nursing program. / Darton State College

Darton State College held the fall 2012 Allied Health division pinning ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

More than 70 graduates crossed the stage to receive their pins for fields ranging from medical laboratory technology to occupational therapy.

Darton's pinning ceremony for the nursing program was at 4:30 PM.

"I have an assistant director of nursing job at a nursing home in Gray, Georgia. I plan on staying there and then getting my wound certification for the state," said Carol Harrison, Darton State College nursing graduate.

Several students also graduated from the Nursing program with Associate of Science degrees. The students are now eligible to take the licensing examination to become registered nurses.
