According to Worthit2u.net, the Crisp County Sheriff's Office is warning people of a phone scam going around the area.

Victims say someone with a Middle Eastern accent calls them claiming to be from Microsoft. This person asks them to install a service and says there is a fee associated with it.

On Microsoft's website they have a section dedicated to avoiding tech support phone scams.

The website says these cybercriminals claim to be from Windows Helpdesk, Windows Service Center, Microsoft Tech Support, Microsoft Support, Windows Technical Department Support Group, or Microsoft Research and Development Team.
