Dougherty County leaders approved two big items for the Dougherty County Jail.
Commissioners approved to renew a drug abuse education program for inmates.
They also approved an automated phone service that would allow callers to get information about an inmate's court date, bond, charges and release date.
Right now, the in housing jail staff take time out of their scheduled duties to answer these questions.
Jail Director Col. John Ostrander believes this will improve efficiency.
