County employee suspended after arrest
A Dougherty County Human Resources specialist is now suspended with pay after being arrested on felony computer theft charges.
County Administrator Richard Crowdis told FOX 31 Shenique Starkes will be suspended until her case is heard. If there's an indictment that will be changed to suspension without pay and once a verdict is given Crowdis will make a decision on whether or not to terminate the employee.
Crowdis says the charges are separate from her job with the county; the charges involve her part-time job at Belk's in the Albany Mall.
He told us Starkes was removed from the workplace as soon as he found out what happened on Wednesday.
