Dougherty County commissioners are considering giving all full time county employees a $500 bonus after a proposal from the finance committee.
If granted, the bonus will be paid in a lump sum and would be a one-time bonus. In order to receive the bonus, workers would need to be employed with the county prior to July 1st.
The county budget for this year would have to be amended to allow for the bonuses.
The Monday morning meeting between commissioners is a work session, so any decision would have to go to a regularly scheduled night meeting for a vote.
Also in the commission meeting, county leaders went over plans to conduct an overview of the Service Delivery Strategy Agreement.
County and Albany city officials will work together in upcoming months to hash out which fire and recreation services are provided by both entities. This process is done as a way to make sure taxpayers aren't paying twice for services.
