In the mood for country comfort food, but don't have a lot of time?
A new restaurant opened in Downtown Albany is the place for you.
Grace's Country Cooking opened on Monday in Downtown Albany, located at 109 W. Broad Avenue next to Riverfront Bar-B-Q. This eatery aims to be accommodating to those with an short lunch break from work.
"It's actually buffet style, we put it on your plate for you. No waiting in line. Maybe in 30 minutes or less you'd be out from eating. Good country cooking. We just felt like in Downtown there's a need for a place that's quick," says Owner Dale Saunders.
The menu at Grace's County Cooking changes daily. The cook is not only the creator of the dishes but also the restaurant's namesake.
Grace's Country Cooking is the third business in the week that announced a Downtown location.
"People love downtown. When you go to other cities, that's where you go: To the downtown. So a lot of people just want to be a part of that, they want to be a part of what's happening, the rebirth of our area," says Downtown Manager Aaron Blair.
Also coming Downtown near Riverfront a $10 million project for Front Street, but the details are still being negotiated, according to Blair.
