Julie Tucker, flight nurse for the Cordele, Ga., Air Evac Lifeteam base, has been honored with the company's 2013 Region 3 Base Clinical Lead award. Tucker's region consists of Air Evac Lifeteam bases in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and parts of Tennessee.

The Base Clinical Lead of the Year award is presented to a flight nurse or paramedic who demonstrates accountability, initiative, integrity, endurance, enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to their own personal and professional growth as well as a commitment to the growth and development of their colleagues and peers.

"Julie is an excellent teacher," said Jeff Davis, regional director of base operations. "She provides the type of education you cannot get from a book. She gives very good examples we can all relate to, and those examples often make situations easier to predict. Julie also challenges those at her base to go above and beyond what is expected. Her leadership skills and positive attitude have created a work environment that pushes each employee to be a better practitioner, making them want to be the best they can be for the patients."

Davis added that Tucker has an excellent working relationship with all the doctors, nurses, and EMS crews in our immediate service area.

"She has proven herself to be a true leader for Air Evac Lifeteam, and is always keeping safety as our top priority," he said.
