Thursday Douglas law enforcement teamed up with code enforcement and animal control to enforce city ordinances.

Officials divided the city into four sections.

They went to houses looking for offenses like inoperable cars, trashed yards, and overgrown grass.

Police also caught several people breaking the dog ordinance.

"People wanted to know what we're doing and we told them what we were out enforcing the city ordinances, trying to get it cleaned up and they were ecstatic that's what we're doing," said Roger Goddard, Douglas Code Enforcement.

Police issued several citations and warnings.

People are warned to clean up their yards or they could end up with a citation.
