Congressman Sanford Bishop held a Military Family Summit Wednesday at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus.
Bishop spoke on issues that military families deal with on a daily basis like finding jobs for a spouse, education for their children, and psychological issues.
Families had a chance to have a discussion directly with policy makers in hopes that these officials would know what they're going through and how they can help.
Bishop told FOX 31 in the first panel he sat in on he heard a lot of discussion about spouses not being able to find jobs or having to take a job they're over qualified for. Bishop said this is something he's diligently going to work towards improving and suggested starting some type of job mentoring program on various military bases.
