Competition heats up at law enforcement cook off
Law enforcement agencies in Southwest Georgia say they always have each other’s backs, but there’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition once in a while.
Ten local agencies competed in a cook off in Albany on Wednesday, an annual tradition as part of Law Enforcement Memorial Week. They were judged on four different categories: wings, ribs, chicken and Boston butt.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office came away the overall winner and the winner in the wings and ribs categories. DCSS police won for the best Boston butt, while the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit had the best chicken.
