Community supports Pregnancy Resource Center
The Pregnancy Resource Center of Lee County hosted their biggest event for the year, The Annual Fundraiser, to raise money for the organization on Thursday.
Chehaw Park was packed with hundreds of donors supporting the cause.
Organizers said they wanted people to leave with more education to help bring awareness.
The money raised will be used to help women with unplanned pregnancies.
“We want to be a resource for them,” Executive Director Kim Bell said. “That’s a very scary time for them, and a very confusing time. We want people to know that we’re there, that we offer those services, that we’re compassionate in a nonjudgmental way.”
Some of the services the pregnancy resource center has include free pregnancy test, peer counseling, and prenatal, childbirth and parenting counseling.
Anyone needing assistance should call 229.814.1072.
