Over 800 people registered to run in honor of Heather Yieser, a woman diagnosed with breast cancer.
Heather Yieser is a 1st grade teacher at Deerfield Windsor and was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of last year.
Mandy Phillips, one of the organizers for the run, said she expected 150 people, and to see over 800 people register for the run as of Friday night was a great feeling of support.
The run started in the 2300 block of Lake Park Drive on the side of Wild Side Running Shoe Store, their sponsor.
The money raised Saturday morning will go towards Yieser's medical bills.
