Community reacts to dog shooting
While a man was trying to protect his property Saturday afternoon, he shot a dog in the process.
The dog was allegedly attacking his sheep and the owner shot the animal in the head, leaving the dog permanently blind.
Fox 31 spoke to several people in the community who have mixed emotions about the incident. Nathaniel Gamble and Jamie Wiggins both say they aren't sure what they would do in the situation, but they feel it should've been handled differently. Gamble says he may have shot the dog too, but in a place that wouldn't seriously injure him like a foot or a leg.
John Lewis, on the other hand, says he would have done the exact same thing. Lewis feels you have a right to protect your property and the invader whether a human or animal has to deal with the consequences.
