Update 6/3/14 2:35 p.m.:
Donations have already started rolling in to the Tift County Fire Department.
Drive coordinator Nicole Taylor brought donations to both the Harding Volunteer Fire Department and the Ty Ty Volunteer Fire Department.
It's starting to get pretty hot outside as Southwest Georgians head into Summer and no one feels that heat more than fire-fighters.
In Tift County the community is coming together to make sure those fire-fighters are as cool as possible in the heat.
They're collecting water and Gatorade that will be stored at each station and taken out on calls.
FOX 31 spoke to a fire-fighter at Fire Station #1 in Tift County who said when they're in the houses fighting fires with all their gear on it can get up to 500 degrees and having water to cool them down is a necessity. He assured us that the water and Gatorade does not just sit around, every last drop of it is used.
