Although it's not held at night, National Night Out in Moultrie is still a big hit in the Moultrie community.

The event held at the Jim Buck Goff Sports Complex Saturday is a chance for the public to meet and greet law enforcement on a more up close and personal basis.

Sheriff Al Whittington says, "reintroducing public safety to our community where they feel comfortable with us and willing to work with us and in conjunction with that we'll be more able to make our community a safer place to live and raise our families."

This is the 9th year Moultrie and Colquitt County has participated in National Night Out. Participants included Colquitt County Sheriff's Office, Moultrie Police, and Moultrie Fire Department. Organizers say the event is held during the day because more people come out versus at night.
