Civilian marine deploying overseas
One of Albany's Department of Defense employees is heading overseas to lend a hand to our troops.
George Garlock is leaving family and friends and flying to Kuwait.
Garlock is a civilian worker for the Albany Maintenance Center at the Marine Corps Logistics Base.
While overseas he'll work as a mechanic. Although he's leaving his family for a while, Garlock looks forward to the journey ahead.
"I'm going to be repairing equipment as needed. I'm not sure exactly what or what extent of things I'll be doing but I know I'm just going to do the best I can," said Marine Civilian George Garlock.
Garlock is expected to be in Kuwait for six months.
