The Albany Aviation Commission met Monday evening. At the meeting, the commission heard from Colonel Greg Frich.
Frich presented about what the Civil Air Patrol is and what they do here locally,
The Civil Air Patrol is a national volunteer organization.
Locally, the Albany Composite Squadron assists with search and rescues and disaster relief.
They also have a cadet program where people as young as 12 years old can get involved to serve the community.
Frich also presented to start a dialogue to collaborate more with the Albany Airport.
He says,"I'd also like them [Albany Airport] to be able to use the Civil Air Patrol and our facilities that we have, which are set up for emergency operations centers."
