Civic center hosts Fourth of July fireworks show
With the flags, the funnel cakes, and the snow cones it could only mean one thing, The Fourth of July.
But most everyone came out today for one thing, the fireworks.
Once again the civic center hosted the Albany's Independence Day spectacular, complete with music and food.
But aside from the standard fun and games, the day is more about celebrating America's freedoms.
"Thanking all these folks that have gone out there and done all that needs to be done for America so that we can have our freedoms," said Jacob Hammond.
"For our veterans and our freedoms sir, that's why we do it every year," said Jason Taylor.
"God bless America and god bless everybody," said Lloyd Richardson.
Organizers tell me they expect well over 30,000 people to watch the fireworks. Some people said they have come further than Atlanta to watch the show here in Albany.
