      City pick up may not come this week

      Debris is set to have delays on pick up in the city of Tifton.

      Residents of Tifton have made several complaints concerning the time it takes the city to pick up their debris.

      One resident, Vera Blake, says she expects the debris to be picked up from the front of her home every week and lately, it hasn't been.

      Blake said, "I've been here ten years and I'm use to them picking up debris, but lately it's been every three weeks or four weeks, I still have a bag (of debris) in the back of my house."

      Ricky Hobby, Solid Waste Director of the City of Tifton says they are required pick it up every week, however in the Spring and Fall there are delays. He says during this time the trimmings and debris increase, and there aren't enough workers to compensate.

      He says resident's would have to pay more in order for the pick up to be once a week during this season and they're asking for patience.
