      Child drowns in pool incident

      UPDATED (7/20/14):

      FOX 31 confirmed with Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler that the 13-year-old male in critical condition that was pulled out of the pool Saturday evening has passed away.

      ORIGINAL STORY:

      A young boy is in critical condition after being pulled out of a pool in a residential area on the corner of Kentucky and Owens Avenue in East Albany Saturday evening.

      Officials with Dougherty County EMS say that responding medics immediately began working on the young patient.

      Soon after, the child was rushed to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

      No word on the age of the child.

      Sam Allen with the Dougherty County EMS Department says, "anytime anybody is around a pool, make sure there's people around and always make sure a responsible adult is there at all times."
