Child abuse is on the rise in America and southwest Georgia is no exception.
As a result of child abuse in the US, four children die every day, and a report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. "It doesn't matter who you are, stopping this growing problem begins with you," said Albany Child Advocacy Director Amy Boney.
"If something makes that inner red flag rise to really listen to that. If you have a child wearing long sleeve shirts in May in Albany, Georgia, that can be an issue. If a much older child is wanting to spend time with your much younger child, then they need to be supervised. We've seen many older juveniles on younger juvenile sexual abuse cases. Adults paying attention is what stops child sexual abuse," said Boney.
