Crews from all over the state are in Albany setting up the events field at Chehaw for the 19th Annual Georgia Lineman's Rodeo.

If there's a storm or a major electrical problem, a lineman is the person who would fix the downed wire.

Coweta Fayetta EMC, Flint Energies, Griffin Power, Crisp Power, Mitchell EMC, and Gray Stone Power all came down to participate in the set up.

During the competition men will compete in multiple tasks that they do every day during their job.

"We'll hang a mannequin off the poles simulating an injured or dead person and they'll have to go up there and rescue them in a safe way as quick as possible," said Brandon Wiley, Training and Safety Specialist.

Officials say this competition gives families and friends a chance to see what the men do on a daily basis while giving them the confidence to perform certain tasks on their jobs.

Last year more than 500 people came into town to support the competition.

The 2013 competition will be held Saturday, May 4th. On the Friday before the competition, there is registration and a vendor show.
