Chehaw celebrates Native American culture
Chehaw Park hosted their annual Native American Festival bringing culture and history to Albany.
Vendors and demonstrators were at Chehaw to display tan hides, bow and arrows, and canoes and other artifacts of the Native American culture. There were also various tribes explaining the history of their culture.
Event Coordinator Ben Kirkland says Native Americans, from all over the country, and dancers talked about their culture and their music. He said, "there are vendors and many wonderful crafts available to public to practicing old ways from chipping the canoe to tanning hide."
There was also live entertainment at the event, including Aztec dancers.
