Georgia State Parks are in the process of unifying the management of their lodge parks across the state, including Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park in Cordele.
What this means is that Lake Blackshear Resort, who currently operates the lodge and cottages, will be expanding their management responsibilities to the entire park to include day use areas and the camp grounds.
"We think that we'll be able to see greater efficiencies, more flexibility in our ability to market and improve the quality of services at the site," said Becky Kelley, the Director of Georgia State Parks Recreation and Historic Sites Division.
The switch over in management is set to happen on July 1st, and officials say park visitors can expect to see a lot of the same faces and commitment to quality of service.
