Seeing a Christmas tree in the summer time is a little odd, but for one local organization, the idea behind a Christmas tree in July is for a good cause.
Officials with the Lily Pad Sane Center says they're having a Christmas in July theme so they can get a jump start on collecting gifts for the children ages 12 and up.
Lily Pad officials add that kids older than 12 usually don't get many gifts during the holiday season.
Cassandra Wright, Executive Director of the Lily Pad says, "we're doing this so all kids to have a fun and memorable Christmas."
If you would like go drop of a present, you can drop them off at the Lily Pad located at 320 W 2nd Avenue. Wrights add that they accept all gifts or gift cards and are accepting gifts during the entire month of July.
